Title:
Prevention of deformity in the insensitive hand: the role of the therapist ..-
Source:
s.l; s.n; Nov.-December 1969. 4 p. ilus.
Abstract:
Patients with sensory loss in the hands are subject to burns, cuts, and repeated acceptance of excessive pressures. This trauma eventually leads to shortening of the digits, as a result of bone absorption. The therapist's efforts to prevent this process require modification of potencially dangerous objects in the patients environment and education as to the hazardous potential in his daily living activities as well as the meticulous splinting of all injuries.(AU).
