| | Abstract: | The authors researchd fat substancies in 231 cutaneous lesions of lepers, of various forms and stages, using frozen sections stained with the Scharlach R-hematein. Is was established that in leprosy of lepromatous form fat is found in a large percentage (63,5 per cente); in the tuberculoid form fat was found only in the reactionary from, and among these only in 16,6 per cente, and with special characteristics. Furthermore, in 33 per cente of the incharacteristic leprosy cases fat could be disclosed; for this reason and for other motives of cytological, bacteriological and clinical order, the authors believe that such lesions ought to be considered as regressive lepromatous lesions. It is the authors opinion that the research of the may be helpful, in some cases, in the differential diagnosis between certain types of lepromatous lesions. (AU)^ien.
